Most bodybuilders don't know how to train to build muscle and strength....They would be nothing without steroids/drugs....
It's a sport based on lies/falsehoods.
-
What about the “a calorie is a calorie” myth?

That's truth.

I don't think effective training principles are fundamentally different for naturals. It's just that drugs remove or reduce certain physiological limits. What would be the 'real' differences between the approaches wrt training?
That's truth.
:D
I think some deliberately misunderstand the points made by the 'a calorie is a calorie' camp. 'Law of thermodynamics' and all that shit. Of course some believe in the 'insulin model of obesity' and other crap but I say there were no fat people in the concentration camps. People can't count calories, they may even be honest about not eating "much" but the perception doesn't correspond to reality. In controlled settings sluggish metabolisms and bad thyroid excuses disappear.

There are Getbiggers who refuse to accept these scientific discoveries made by such studies.
-
The article advocates for that brand new scientific discovery "progressive resistance training" over The Pump and feeling the burn. Pure hogwash.

Whatever works for them.

Herschel Walker- no weights, just calisthenics. Apparently he forgot to read the study about progressive overload.

Andrey Smaev also does a lot of calisthenics. High rep loaded lifting. For example 25 reps every set while pyramiding in weight. He is as big as they come. I don't know if Walker's workouts disprove the progressive overload "theory." You also have to consider Walker's genetics and whatever PEDs he might do, because apparently drug use makes everything work as well as something else according to getbiggers. I've seen many American bodybuilders claims they regularly see blacks on the monkey bars in the park looking like competitive bodybuilders and their diet is fried chicken and 40s in paper bags. No PEDs, maybe some crack.
I think there's a red thread in all successful hypertrophy routines and progressive overload is part of that, even Walker's routines. Not trying to contradict you just because, just expressing a somewhat different POV. Calisthenics obviously work to a degree. That fella who did 11,000 pushups had no muscle, if we're citing singular cases 8)

I just watched Total Recall again last night. This thread probably subconsciously influenced me.

I agree but even if not correct, he is in the top 1 millionth percent genetically. If you’re clearly not even in the top 1-2% for bodybuilding genetically give up any thoughts of being a Pro Bodybuilder (as normally defined, not these handed out pro cards to everyone scam “pros”)
