He started juicing at 1971, at age 23.
He was already IFBB Mr Universe Middle class winner at age 22, crazy genetics and work ethic.

Sergio Oliva, 1977 in Paris.

This is basically the most ripped Sergio, prior to his 1980s competitions at the Olympia. In 1972 he was ripped and even 1973, a few weeks prior to the Olympia, but he's really lean here.

Could this Sergio have bested Arnold at any point?

i don’t think SERGIO is that ripped there @ all...definitely down in size, arms, quads, tricep torned and the definition in his quads were nothing like his prime, in that shape with that obvious stupid wig he had on he’d have NO chance against Arnold in ANY YEAR after 1969.

Maybe I'm wrong and he wasn't more defined than 1971/2/3 but it's the first time I've seen his abs look as defined in the photo below. He was a little down in size but talking strictly about definition, he was in fantastic shape.

Sergio looks good there
Though he definitely looses some of his amazing shape when being more conditioned
In similar condition to Arnold he would loose every time, those extra pounds on
Sergio filled him out & made him look freaky.

Yeah, very much reminiscent of Arnold in 1980. Down in size but still in fantastic condition and very aesthetic, with more than enough size.
