If a former competitive lifter returns to training after a decade-long break, does their previous years of heavy lifting genuinely give them a faster comeback, or is it just psychological confidence? What does the science say about neural adaptations versus actual muscle fiber retention after such a long hiatus?

I looked like shit 2 months ago and bow I look like I lift again and have drastically changed my appearance.. my muscles just filled up again with minimum training a slight change in diet and TRT
