Bunch of ODS, obama derangement syndrome. Guys melting down about a library opening like every other living president.

I bet Obama hired a guy to do it using tax payer money who previously was arrested for bribery and who got it on a no bid contract.

It’s not a presidential library, it’s a presidential center.  Unlike other former presidents, there are no papers, records, collections or other historical materials stored there.  Everything’s been digitized.

Also, I don’t recall any other former presidents paving over a public park designed by Frederick Law Olmstead in order to make their presidential libraries.

At least it was free to the people of Chicago.

Quote
The Obama Foundation and its public materials state the Obama Presidential Center’s construction and museum will be privately funded and managed by the Foundation [1][2]; however, substantial public infrastructure and related costs tied to the project have been paid by Chicago and Illinois taxpayers, including at least $123.3 million in CDOT capital spending and larger line items in the city’s capital plan [3][4]. Reporting and filings show the center’s building costs are covered by donor contributions while public agencies have financed roads, parks and other municipal improvements around the campus, provoking debate about what “taxpayer-funded” means in practice [5][6].

Whats the difference between digitized vs paper? why would that matter for this. It is tech a center, library, museum and some other shit. it's the equivalent of the bush center.

Bush also has a center, so I don't get your point there either. It's called the bush presidential center and houses the library and museum etc

I like Archive.org - https://archive.org/.

Just a huge, decentralized library that you can read with an internet connection. I wish libraries would throw more time and effort into it, and they had an easier time with copywrite laws, etc......

I use it to read current popular articles behind pay walls, though I read outlets have taken some kind of actions preventing that lately.

Is there a physical card catalog system utilized at this branch?
